Hello Hello

With winter coming up, many of my clients decide to opt for the bath and light trim, which is usually $15+ in savings over a grooming. This service pleases people because it keeps more hair and cleans up the dog in the areas it needs to be cleaned. Not to mention my long lasting good smelling-essential oil based coconut oil shampoos and conditioners.
Please use flea medication BEFORE coming into my shop. I will charge more and I don't appreciate having fleas in my shop as my other clients dogs are exposed to these acrobatic bugs! A few are ok, I do offer a dip, but if you have an obvious infestation, you need to get a powerful pill like comfortis. The flea topical drops haven't worked personally for me for years.

Also-I would like to ask my clients a huge favor. I usually mention it, but it sometimes doesn't really hit home with how important this rule is.

Please don't come early to pickup your dog. They love you sooo much and they know when they see you it's time to go home, so they usually whimper and move around to the point I can't finish grooming them. I am very energy sensitive and when the owner shows up, the whole dog goes into a state of excitement and stress, which I can feel, and honestly with the volume I do, I can't handle it. So please wait for my call, call me, or set a pickup time. I usually work down to the last ten minutes, so please don't come early. I love you all and your pets, so please understand why this is important. It's also about safety. My scissors are so sharp, I have cut my hand open before but having someone come through my dog saying, " there's my doggy!"

A word of advice is you don't want to rush the dog groomer, sometimes every single dog poops, which I have to clean, or sometimes dogs are scared and take longer. I assure you I have been doing this career 12 years now and I have seen everything. I really appreciate communication from my clients as my main priority is making you happy.
If you liked the haircut I did last time, just tell me you want the usual, if you want something different, show me a picture of what you want. If you tell me you want something different and then get mad that I didn't the usual, it's not fair to me as I will listen to you.

I have really good news! I am carrying a special type of yeast shampoo guaranteed to remove that disgusting bread yeast smell. Its amazing!

 Thank you for reading!

Update

Hello my beloved grooming clients!

I am writing this update because of the phone calls and texts I've been receiving asking me if I sold my business.
I did not. The facebook page for Desiree's Pink Poodle was run by a groomer who contracted out of my shop. She decided to change the name of the facebook to her own business, which was probably easier than starting a new page, but nevertheless was against my wishes. Either way, I know it's confusing but I am still open for business, and  I did not sell my business!

As far as Desiree's Pink Poodle new hours, I will be in personally, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and I will be there ALL day long, so I can offer appointments to meet your needs.  I also maybe able to accommodate your schedule if you cannot make it on the three days I work...... just ask me!

I know it maybe alarming, but I would like to assure you all that I've groomed 10 years alone with NO INCIDENTS and I plan on grooming alone from here on out! I like doing it myself anyways because it has always been a dream of mine to be a groomer, and I like to know what is going on with each dog that I work on. I seriously wake up eager to go to work, happy to make your puppies look cute, and pleased with meeting all of you loving pet owners!!!!!!

Please call or text me for any questions you may have or if you would like an appointment.  Thank you for reading, God Bless!

 Sincerely,

How to Prep Your Pet to be Groomed

I've been doing grooming for 15 years now! I love it. I love my clients and my clients dogs so much there is nothing else in the world I'd rather be doing as a career. I have the BEST clients in the world.
I thought I would write a blog post on how to prep your pet to be groomed. I notice even new clients' pets shivering/scared, probably the feeling of being taken from their owner sets in as soon as they walk into the door.

A few things to remember when bringing your pet in:

 * Always inform your groomer via phone or text when scheduling the appointment if you want your pet done ASAP. Usually we work on animals throughout the day and your pet may not be the only pet in and sometimes more than one owner wants their pet done and it can cause stress on your groomer, which your pet senses during grooming. We love to make you happy so just mention it when you make your appointment.

* Try to take your pet for a walk if you can. This really helps us as sometimes some pets defecate several times which isn't fun for the groomer to clean up over and over and (yes) over again. Not only that, the pet seems more calm when walked beforehand.

* Feeding your pet a few hours before coming in. Not right before they come in. That can cause vomiting and it's unpleasant for us and your pet.

*Bring your own treats. I have a strict no treat rule at the shop. I don't want your animal having any allergic reaction to anything while they are here so if you want to bring them treats, I will give them!

*If your pet is crawling in fleas you must bath them at home first as we do not want fleas in the shop. It is understandable to have a few fleas, but if your pet is crawling with them you need to get flea medication on them BEFORE bringing them in. It is not fair to other pets in the shop and these things are acrobatic. Some fleas are ok, we do offer a flea bath, but hundreds of fleas is not okay.

*If your worried about your pets cut, please find a picture of what you want your pet to look like. Please keep in mind the following things when looking for a picture, if the dog doesn't look like your dog, it wont look like the picture, and if the hair is matted, we may have to do shorter than what you would like, but we're pretty good at making horrible looking dogs look great!

I also want to clarify that if you are stressed out about getting your pet groomed to the point of having anxiety, you may want to have someone else drop the dog off. Animals are really connected to their owners and if you don't trust the groomer, or have too many worries, your pet will pick up on it and the grooming will be a scary experience for them. Animals are a lot smarter than we think they are and they look to us for safety. I only work part time so I can be calm, relaxed and gentle with your pet. When I opened the shop in crockett, my vision was to take away that assembly line grooming style and offer a beauty shop feel.
I use all natural, essential oil based shampoo and conditioner/ finishing sprays. I take my time on your pet and I will not force an animal to be dried if it is causing stress to your pet. Please call or text me for more information if you have questions.
